하나님의 어린양

요1:29-34

 

유대광야에서 메뚜기와 석청으로 살아가던 세례 요한이 등장하여 죄 사함을 받게하는 회개의 세례를 전파하는 것을 보고 대제사장과 바리새인들을 비롯한 종교지도자들이 충격을 받은 것은, 율법 의식과 전통에 도전이 되었기 때문입니다. 유대인들의 성례는 할례와 유월절이었으나 요한이 요단강에서 물세례를 베풀었기 때문입니다. 요한의 세례가 중요한 것은 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 새로운 성례가 되기 때문입니다.

"유대인들이 예루살렘에서 제사장들과 레위인들을 요한에게 보내어 네가 누구냐 물을 때에 요한의 증언이 이러하니라 요한이 드러내어 말하고 숨기지 아니하니 드러내어 하는 말이 나는 그리스도가 아니라 한대 또 묻되 그러면 누구냐 네가 엘리야냐 이르되 나는 아니라 또 묻되 네가 그 선지자냐 대답하되 아니라 또 말하되 누구냐 우리를 보낸 이들에게 대답하게 하라 너는 네게 대하여 무엇이라 하느냐 이르되 나는 선지자 이사야의 말과 같이 주의 길을 곧게 하라고 광야에서 외치는 자의 소리로라 하니라"(요1:19-23).

질문은 여기서 그치지 않았습니다.

"네가 만일 그리스도도 아니요 엘리야도 아니요 그 선지자도 아닐진대 어찌하여 세례를 베푸느냐 요한이 대답하되 나는 물로 세례를 베풀거니와 너희 가운데 너희가 알지 못하는 한 사람이 섰으니 곧 내 뒤에 오시는 그이라 나는 그의 신발 끈을 풀기도 감당하지 못하겠노라"(25-27).

"나는 너희로 회개하게 하기 위하여 물로 세례를 베풀거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당하지 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 세례를 베푸실 것이요"(마3:11).

"불과 성령" 이는 율법 시대의 막을 내리고 복음의 새 시대 즉 메시야로 인한 은혜의 시대를 선포하는 말씀입니다.

 

1. 대속의 양으로 오신 예수

이원론자들은 태초에 하나님과 물질이 공존하였다고 합니다. 이유는 선하신 하나님께서는 악을 창조할 수 없으므로 물질은 악하다는 논리를 펼치고 있습니다. 성경은 어떻게 말씀하고 있습니까? 하나님이 '빛이 있으라' 하시므로 빛이 있었다고 하셨습니다.

물론 본문에서 언급하고 있는 세상은 영토를 의미하는 것보다 저주 아래 있는 인간을 가리키는 말씀입니다. 물론 자연 역시 하나님께서 창조하신 피조물입니다. 다만 자연은 인간이 범죄하고 타락한 일로 저주 아래 들어간 것입니다. 이렇게 자연에 미치는 저주는 인간으로 말미암아 오게 되었습니다.

"이튿날 요한이 예수께서 자기에게 나아오심을 보고 이르되 보라 세상 죄를 지고 가는 하나님의 어린 양이로다"(29절).

이 말씀은 저주 아래 있는 인간을 대속하기 위해 보내심을 받은 메시아에 대한 증언입니다. 여기서 그리스도 예수를 가리켜 "하나님의 어린 양"이라 하신 말씀에 유의하시기 바랍니다.

어린양은 구약시대 이스라엘 백성들이 속죄의 제물로 양을 잡아 드렸습니다. 매일 아침과 저녁으로 드리는 양의 제물을 비롯하여(출29:39), 유월절 양을 잡아 그 피를 문설주와 인방에 바르고(출 12:7), 또 양을 잡아 속죄 제물로 드렸습니다(레4:32).

이는 모두 하나님의 말씀에 따른 일로서 이스라엘 백성들은 이로 인해 죄의 사유함을 받았습니다. 그러나 그러한 제사는 그리스도께서 오시기까지 그림자입니다.

"율법은 장차 올 좋은 일의 그림자일 뿐이요 참 형상이 아니므로 해마다 늘 드리는바 같은 제사로는 나아오는 자들을 언제든지 온전하게 할 수 없느니라"(히10:1).

그러므로 이제는 양을 잡아 제물로 드릴 이유가 없어진 것입니다. 오직 세상 죄를 지고 가신 하나님의 어린양이신 주님께서 영원한 대속의 제물이 되셨으므로 그로 인해 우리가 온전하게 됨을 믿으시기 바랍니다.

 

2. 내 뒤에 오는 사람

"내가 전에 말하기를 내 뒤에 오는 사람이 있는데 나보다 앞선 것은 그가 나보다 먼저 계심이라 한 것이 이 사람을 가리킴이라"(30절).

요한은 주님보다 육 개월 먼저 태어났으나 예수님을 나보다 앞섰다고 증언한 것은 태초부터 계신 진리를 깨달았기 때문입니다. 요한이 예수님을 증언하는 일에 앞서 행한 일이 무엇입니까? 주의 첩경을 평탄하게 하는 일이었습니다. 그것이 중요합니다.

"요한이 많은 바리새인들과 사두개인들이 세례 베푸는 데로 오는 것을 보고 이르되 독사의 자식들아 누가 너희를 가르쳐 임박한 진노를 피하라 하더냐 그러므로 회개에 합당한 열매를 맺고 속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라고 생각지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라 이미 도끼가 나무뿌리에 놓였으니 좋은 열매를 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍혀 불에 던져지리라"(마3:7-10).

"바리새인들과 사두개인들" 그들은 어디를 가든지 상석에 앉기를 기뻐하는 자들입니다. 그런데 요한은 그들을 향해 "독사의 자식들아" 하였습니다. 이렇게 추상같은 책망 속에서도 그들이 반발하지 못한 것은 요한에게 하나님의 위엄과 능력이 있었기 때문입니다.

오늘도 마찬가지입니다.

"수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라"(마11:28).

이것이 복음입니다. 또 양의 문으로 들어가지 아니하고 다른 데로 넘어가는 자를 가려내는 것도 복음입니다.

우리는 양의 생명을 노략질하기 위해 양의 우리를 넘어오는 자들을 색출하고 척결해야 합니다. 뿐만 아니라 참다운 회개 없이는 사유의 은총을 힘입을 수 없다는 사실도 잊어서는 안 될 것입니다.

여러분! 주의 복음을 욕되게 하지 않도록 주의하십시오. 나의 나 됨이 하나님의 은혜임을 믿습니까? 이것이 사유의 은혜임을 믿으시기 바랍니다.

 

3. 요한이 예수님을 알게 된 경위

"나도 그를 알지 못하였으나"(31, 33) 이 말씀은 반복해서 하고 있습니다. 이상하지 않습니까? 성경에는 성모 마리아와 세례 요한의 생모 엘리사벳을 친족이라(눅1:36) 밝히고 있습니다. 학자들의 말은 그들이 "가까운 인척 관계"라 합니다. 그런데 요한이 예수님을 모른다는 것이 궁금하지 않습니까? 물론 요한은 유대 광야에서, 예수님은 나사렛에 있었기 때문이라는 설도 있습니다. 그러나 중요한 것은 예수님을 어떠한 분으로 아느냐입니다. 예수님의 형제들도 예수가 오실 메시아이심을 믿지 못했습니다.

“그 형제들이 예수께 이르되 당신이 행하는 일을 제자들도 보게 여기를 떠나 유대로 가소서 스스로 나타나기를 구하면서 묻혀서 일하는 사람이 없나니 이 일을 행하려 하거든 자신을 세상에 나타내소서 하니 이는 그 형제들까지도 예수를 믿지 아니함이러라(요 7:3-5).

“성령으로 아니하고는 누구든지 예수를 주시라 할 수 없느니라"(고전12:3).

우리도 다를 바가 없습니다. 불신자들에게 왜 전도가 필요합니까? 예수 믿고 구원받게 하기 위해서입니다. 그런데 문제는 교회에 다니는 사람 중에서도 시험이 들면 실족하는 일이 생긴다는 것입니다. 무슨 이유에서일까요? 예수님을 바로 알지 못했기 때문입니다. 주님께서 오병이어로 오천 명을 먹였을 때 무리들이 어떻게 했습니까? 유대인의 왕으로 모시려고 하였습니다. 사실 예수님은 유대인의 왕으로서만 아니라 왕 중의 왕이요, 세세에 왕으로 만민을 다스릴 왕이십니다.

”빌라도가 이르되 그러면 네가 왕이 아니냐 예수께서 대답하시되 네 말과 같이 내가 왕이니라 내가 이를 위하여 태어났으며 이를 위하여 세상에 왔나니 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하려 함이로라 무릇 진리에 속한 자는 내 음성을 듣느니라“(요18:37).

그런데 유대인들을 보십시오.

"내 살은 참된 양식이요 내 피는 참된 음료로다 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 내 안에 거하고 나도 그의 안에 거하나니 살아계신 아버지께서 나를 보내시매 내가 아버지로 말미암아 사는 것같이 나를 먹는 그 사람도 나로 말미암아 살리라"(요6:55-57).

이 말씀을 들은 유대인들이 어떻게 하였습니까? 뿔뿔이 흩어지고 말았습니다.

"누구든지 나로 말미암아 실족하지 아니하는 자는 복이 있도다"(마11:6).

요한이 메시야를 어떻게 알게 되었는지 보십시오.

"나도 그를 알지 못하였으나 나를 보내어 물로 세례를 베풀라 하신 그이가 나에게 말씀하시되 성령이 내려서 누구 위에든지 머무는 것을 보거든 그가 곧 성령으로 세례를 베푸는 이인 줄 알라 하셨기에 내가 보고 그가 하나님의 아들이심을 증언하였노라"(33-34).

지금도 성령은 역사하고 계십니다. 은혜를 받으십시오. 우리 모두 은혜와 진리 위에 굳게 서서 주님을 섬기는 성도들이 되시기 소원합니다.

 

4. 요한의 임무

요한이 유대 광야에서 외친 말씀입니다.

"주의 길을 준비하라 그가 오실 길을 곧게 하라"(마3:3) 하신 선지자 이사야의 예언을 따라 이스라엘 백성들에게 회개를 촉구하였고, 요단강에서는, "내가 보고 그가 하나님의 아들이심을 증언하였노라"(34절).

요한의 생애를 살펴보면, 그는 광야에서 자연인으로 살다가 때가 이르러 진리를 증언하고 짧은 생을 마쳤습니다. 그런데 그의 생애를 그처럼 복되게 한 결정적인 것이 무엇입니까? 그것이 바로 요인이 예수께서 하나님의 아들 그리스도이심을 증언한 것입니다.

여러분! 우리의 생활은 어떻습니까? 진리와 무관한 삶이라면 허무에 그칠 뿐이요, 진리를 역행하는 삶은 수치와 욕이 되고 영원한 심판에 이르게 된다는 사실을 잊어서는 안 될 것입니다.

그러므로 "듣든지 아니 듣든지", "때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 항상 힘쓰라"고 하였습니다.

여러분! 시대적인 사명을 망각하지 마십시오.

내게 있어 무엇을 요구하며 기뻐하시든지 기회를 잃어서는 안 될 것입니다. 자식 있는 여인이 모성애를 아는 것처럼 우리가 복음의 열매를 맺을 때 그리스도의 참사랑을 깨닫게 될 것입니다.

뉴질랜드에는 양이 사람의 숫자보다 많은데 독수리가 토끼나 양의 새끼를 사냥할 때는 먼저 눈을 뽑아 먹은 후 서서히 뜯어 먹는다고 합니다. 하루는 공중을 돌던 독수리가 번개같이 지상을 향해 내려오기에 농부가 급히 갔더니 거기는 새끼 양이 아닌 어미 양이 두 눈을 잃고 피를 흘리며 죽어 있었는데 그 품에는 새끼 양이 살아 있었다고 합니다.

여러분! 진심으로 주님을 사랑하십니까? 나를 위해 희생하신 주님의 사랑을 잊지 마십시오.

'주님, 이 죄인을 살리려 피 흘리셨습니까? 나도 주님을 사랑합니다. 주님, 받아주시옵소서' 아 멘

 

5. 요한의 겸손

사람에게는 선의의 경쟁이 필요합니다. 그러나 승부욕에만 집착하여 규정을 어긴다면 그것은 승리자가 될 수 없는 것입니다. 물욕도 마찬가지입니다.

얼마 전에 재미 교포 두 사람이 함께 구입한 복권이 당첨되었는데 억이십육억짜리였습니다. 절반으로 나누어도 십삼억입니다. 그런데 이것을 서로 독차지하기 위해 양편 모두 법원에 소송을 제기했다는 기사를 보았습니다. 부끄러운 일이지요. 차라리 당첨되지 않았으면 그런 일은 없었을 텐데 하는 생각이 들었습니다.

더 중요한 것은 주님과의 관계입니다. 주님은 인간과 차원을 달리하신 분으로 우주 만물을 창조하신 조물주이십니다. 그런데도 마귀가 사람을 어떻게 유혹하는지 보십시오.

"선악과를 먹으면 하나님과 같아질까 하노라" 하면서 에덴에서 사용했던 그 술책으로 오늘도 우리를 유혹합니다. 이렇게 마귀의 시험에 빠져들면 교만한 마음이 들어가서 "내가 재림주"라는 망령된 소리를 하는가 하면 매사에 은혜의 길을 막고 불만을 품게 됩니다. 조심해야 합니다.

요한의 겸손을 보십시오.

"신부를 취하는 자는 신랑이나 서서 신랑의 음성을 듣는 친구가 크게 기뻐하나니 나는 이러한 기쁨으로 충만하였노라 그는 흥하여야 하겠고 나는 쇠하여야 하리라"(요3:29-30).

이로인해 요한의 위치가 낮아진 것이 아니라 더 높아졌다는 사실을 깨달아야 합니다. 심지어 그를 따르던 제자들까지도 주님께로 가는 일이 당연하다고 하였습니다.

우리나라는 대형 교회 붐이 일어나 천명 미만의 교회는 대수롭잖게 생각하는 현상이 나타나고 있습니다. 물론 대형 교회가 인위적으로 이뤄졌다고 할 수는 없습니다. 그러나 반드시 많이 모이는 교회에만 성령이 같이 하고 작은 교회에는 진리가 없는 줄로 착각하는 우를 범해서는 안 될 것입니다. 주님은 누구와 함께 하십니까? 한 두 사람이 모인 중에도 같이 계십니다. 라오디게야 교회보다 서머나 교회가 더 부요하고 칭찬받은 교회임을 잊어서는 안 될 것입니다.

"그는 흥하여야 하겠고 나는 쇠하여야 하리라".

"영광은 주님께서 받으시고 멸시와 천대는 내게로 돌리소서." 우리는 이러한 믿음을 가져야 합니다.

우리 모두 겸손의 덕을 살려 더 큰 영광에 이르기를 소원합니다.

주님께서 나를 통해 어떠한 영광받기를 기뻐하시든지 순종합시다.

Lamb of God

John 1:29-34

 

Religious leaders, including the high priests and Pharisees, were shocked when they saw John the Baptist appearing and preaching the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins in the Judean wilderness, living as locusts and locusts. . The Jewish sacrAments were circumcision and the Passover, but John baptized with water in the Jordan River. The baptism of John is important because it becomes a new sacrAment in Christ Jesus.

“This is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to inquire of John who you are. And he asked, “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No,” he said, “who are you? Let those who sent us answer. :19-23).

The questions did not stop there.

“If you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet, why do you baptize?” John answered, “I baptize with water, but there stands one among you, whom you do not know, who is coming after me, and I am his shoes. I am not worthy to untie the cords” (25-27).

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is more powerful than I, and I am not worthy to take on his sandals; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matthew 3:11).

“Fire and the Holy Spirit” These are the words that mark the end of the Age of Law and proclaim the new age of the Gospel, the age of grace through the Messiah.

 

1. Jesus came as the Lamb for the ransom

Dualists say that God and matter coexisted in the beginning. The reason is that a good God cannot create evil, so the logic is that matter is evil. What does the Bible say? God said, 'Let there be light,' so there was light.

Of course, the world mentioned in the text refers to humans under the curse rather than to the territory. Of course, nature is also a creature created by God. However, nature has fallen under the curse because of human sin and corruption. This curse on nature came because of man.

"The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world" (verse 29).

These words are the testimony of the Messiah, who was sent to redeem mankind under the curse. Please note that Christ Jesus is referred to as “the Lamb of God” here.

The Lamb was sacrificed as a sacrifice for sin by the Israelites in the Old TestAment times. Including the daily morning and evening lamb offering (Ex. 29:39), the Passover lamb was slaughtered and its blood was applied to the doorposts and lintels (Ex 12:7), and a lamb was sacrificed as a sin offering (Leviticus 4:32). ).

All of this was in accordance with God's Word, and the Israelites were forgiven of their sins. But such sacrifices are shadows until Christ comes.

“Because the law is but a shadow of the good things to come, and not the true image, the same sacrifices offered year after year cannot always make those who come to perfection” (Hebrews 10:1).

Therefore, there is no longer any reason for slaughtering a sheep and offering it as a sacrifice. Only believe that the Lord, the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world, became the sacrifice for eternal redemption, so that we can be made whole through him.

 

2. Someone After Me

“Because I said before me, there is a man who comes after me, and he precedes me, because he is before me” (verse 30).

John was born six months before the Lord, but he testified that Jesus was ahead of me because he realized the truth from the beginning. What did John do before he testified of Jesus? He was about leveling the path of the Lord. That's important.

“When John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to the baptism, he said, “You brood of vipers, who taught you to flee from the wrath to come? For I tell you, God is able to make these stones descendants of Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matthew 3:7-10).

"The Pharisees and Sadducees" They are the ones who rejoice to sit at the top wherever they go. But John said to them, "You brood of vipers." Even in this abstract rebuke, they could not resist because John had the majesty and power of God.

It is the same today.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

This is the gospel. Also, it is the gospel to sort out those who do not enter through the sheep's gate and pass through other places.

We must search out and eliminate those who cross over the sheepfold to prey on the sheep's life. Moreover, we must not forget that the grace of thought cannot be gained without true repentance.

everyone! Be careful not to dishonor the gospel of the Lord. Do you believe that what you are is the grace of God? Please believe that this is the grace of thought.

 

3. How John came to know Jesus

“Neither did I know him” (31, 33). This phrase is repeated over and over again. Isn't it strange? The Bible identifies the Virgin Mary and the birth mother Elizabeth of John the Baptist as relatives (Luke 1:36). Scholars call them "close kinship." But don't you wonder that John doesn't know Jesus? Of course, there are also theories that it was because John was in the Judean wilderness and Jesus was in Nazareth. But what matters is who you know Jesus as. Even Jesus' brothers did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah to come.

“Then his brothers said to Jesus, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that the disciples may see what you are doing, and there is no one who is buried and works, seeking to appear for himself. because he did not believe in . John 7:3-5.

“No one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3).

We are no different. Why do unbelievers need evangelism? To believe in Jesus and be saved. But the problem is that even among those who go to church, when they face a test, they fall. For what reason? Because they didn't know Jesus right away. What did the crowds do when the Lord fed five thousand people with five fish? He tried to make him king of the Jews. In fact, Jesus is not only the King of the Jews, but also the King of kings and the King who will rule over all peoples as a king for the ages.

“Pilate said to him, “Aren’t you then a king?” Jesus answered, “As you say, I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth hears my voice.” (John 18:37).

But look at the Jews.

“My flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me also live by it” (John 6:55-57).

What did the Jews do when they heard this? It was scattered all over.

“Blessed is anyone who does not stumble because of me” (Matthew 11:6).

See how John came to know the Messiah.

"I didn't know him either, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, "When you see the Holy Spirit come down and remain on anyone, know that he is the one baptizing with the Holy Spirit." So I saw and testified that he was the Son of God. (33-34).

Even now, the Holy Spirit is at work. Be favored. We want all of us to become believers who stand firm on grace and truth and serve the Lord.

 

4. John's Mission

These are the words of John in the wilderness of Judea.

Following the prophecy of the prophet Isaiah, who said, "Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight the way he is to come" (Matthew 3:3), he urged the Israelites to repent, and at the Jordan River, "I saw and testified that he is the Son of God" (Matt. Section 34).

Looking at the life of John, he lived as a natural man in the wilderness, and at the time came, he witnessed his truth and ended his short life. But what was the decisive factor that made his life so blessed? That is the factor that testified that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

everyone! How is our life? We must not forget that a life that is not related to the truth is only futile, and a life that goes against the truth will become shame and scorn and lead to eternal judgment.

Therefore, it is said, "Whether you hear it or not," and "In season and out of season, always exert yourself."

everyone! Do not forget the mission of the times.

Whatever you ask of me and please do not lose the opportunity. Just as a woman with children knows motherly love, when we bear the fruits of the gospel, we will come to realize the true love of Christ.

There are more sheep than humans in New Zealand, and when eagles hunt rabbits or lambs, they first pluck out their eyes and then eat them slowly. One day, an eagle that was hovering in the air came down like lightning, and the farmer hurried to go there. It is said that the mother sheep, not the lamb, had lost both eyes and was bleeding and dead, and the lamb was still alive in its arms.

everyone! Do you truly love the Lord? Do not forget the love of the Lord who sacrificed for me.

'Lord, did you shed your blood to save this sinner? I love the Lord too. Lord, accept me.' Amen

 

5. John's Humility

People need good competition. However, if you are obsessed with the desire to win and break the rules, you cannot be a winner. The same goes for bathing.

Not long ago, two Korean-Americans bought a lottery ticket together, and it was worth 2.6 billion won. Even if you divide it in half, it's 1.3 billion. But I saw an article that both sides brought a lawsuit to the court to get this monopoly on each other. It's a shame. I thought that it would not have happened if I hadn't won.

More important is your relationship with the Lord. The Lord is the Creator who created the universe and everything in a different dimension from humans. Still, see how the devil tempts people.

He tempts us today with the same tactic he used in Eden, saying, “If we eat the fruit of the forbidden fruit, we will become like God.” If you fall into the devil's temptation in this way, your proud heart will enter and you will say, "I am the Second Coming Lord," and you will block the way of grace and harbor dissatisfaction in everything. Be careful.

Look at John's humility.

"He who takes the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend who stands and hears the bridegroom's voice rejoices greatly; I was filled with such joy. He must increase, and I must decrease" (John 3:29-30)

You must realize that John's position has not been lowered by this, but has been raised higher. Even the disciples who followed him said it was natural for them to go to the Lord.

In Korea, a large-scale church boom has occurred, and churches with fewer than 1,000 members are not considered as a small thing. Of course, it cannot be said that large churches were created artificially. However, we must not make the mistake of mistakenly thinking that the Holy Spirit is with us only in churches where there are many gatherings and that there is no truth in small churches. Who is the Lord with? Even when one or two people are together, they are with you. We must not forget that the Smyrna Church is a richer and more praised church than the Church of Laodicea.

“He must increase and I must decrease.”

"Glory be to the Lord, and contempt and scorn be upon me." We must have this belief.

May we all use the virtue of humility to achieve greater glory.
