그리스도 여든 밝히 말하시오

요10:22-42

 

"네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든"(마4:3,6).

이는 유대 광야에서 사십일을 밤낮으로 금식하신 후에 주리신 주님께 와서 유혹하던 마귀의 소리입니다.

"네가 그리스도가 아니냐 너와 우리를 구원하라"(눅23:39).

골고다에서 함께 못 박힌 한편 강도의 소리요,

"네가 만일 유대인의 왕이어든 네가 너를 구원하라"(눅23:37).

그리스도를 십자가에 못 박은 로마 군병들의 소리입니다.

"유대인들이 에워싸고 이르되 당신이 언제까지나 우리 마음을 의혹하게 하려 하나이까 그리스도이면 밝히 말씀하소서"(요10:24).

여기는 공통점이 있는데 그것은 그리스도에 대하여 가지는 의문입니다. 그들은 마귀에게 속하였으므로 어떠한 대답으로도 믿지 않을 자들입니다.

"내가 너희에게 말하였으되 믿지 아니하는도다 내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 행하는 일들이 나를 증거하는 것이거늘 너희가 내 양이 아니므로 믿지 아니하는도다”(25-26).

 

1. 수전절

"예루살렘에 수전절이 이르니 때는 겨울이라"(22절).

수전절은 성전을 정결하게 하는 절기입니다. 주전 백육십칠 년에 안티오커스 에피파네스(Antiochus Epiphanes)가 예루살렘을 함락하였을 때 번제단 위에 돼지를 잡아 제물을 드리고 그 피를 성전에 뿌린 일로, 삼 년 후 주전 백육십사 년에 유다스 마카비우스(Judas Maccabius)가 성전을 복구하고 정결하게 하는 제사를 올린데서 시작된 절기입니다. 수전절의 예식은 팔일 동안 계속되었는데 그 기간 동안에는 용감했던 희생자들을 소개하고 시편과 찬송으로 하나님을 경배하였다고 합니다. 수전절은 양력으로는 십이월 십오일, 유대 달력으로는 기슬르 월 이십오 일에 시작되었습니다.

 

2. 외모로 취한 유대인들

유대인들이 주님을 멸시한 이유는 그가 갈릴리 출신으로서 스스로 하나님의 아들이며 오실 메시아라 하였다는 것입니다. 물론 사람이 할 수 없는 능력과 이적이 예수를 통해 나타나는 것을 그들도 들었고 보았습니다. 그러나 예수를 메시아로 용납할 수 없다는 생각은 변할 줄 몰랐습니다. 심지어 저주를 선포하면서까지 부인하였습니다(요7:49).

유대인들이 기다리는 메시아는 다윗의 권세를 가지고 이스라엘의 주권을 회복하여 열국에 떨칠 영향력을 기대했는데 나귀 새끼를 타고 입성하신 것은 선지자들의 예언을 이루신 것입니다.

“이는 선지자를 통하여 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되 시온 딸에게 이르기를 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀, 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라 하였느니라”(마21:4-5).

밤낮으로 성경을 상고하는 유대인들이 이 사실을 알았다면 그들도 "호산나 찬송하리로다" 하고 엎드려 주 앞에 경배를 드렸을 것입니다. 그런데 유대인들이 교만하여 메시아를 알지 못했던 것입니다.

미국의 남북 전쟁이 일어나기 몇 해 전에 있었던 일입니다. 오하이오 주에서 농장을 운영하는 농부의 집에 어느 날 초라한 소년이 찾아와서 일자리를 구하기에 마침 일손이 부족한 때라 고용했습니다. 그런데 삼 년이 지난 후에 그 소년이 주인의 딸과 사귀는 것을 알고 주인은 소년을 내쫓았습니다. 그로부터 삼십오 년의 세월이 흐른 후 농장 주인은 낡은 창고를 수리하다가 소년이 두고 간 짐을 발견하고 내용물을 살피던 중 그 소년의 본명이 바로 제임스 A 가필드(1831-1881)라는 20대 미합중국 대통령과 동일인이라는 사실을 알게 되었다고 합니다. 아무리 고용인이라 할지라도 그가 장차 대통령이 될 인물인 줄 알았다면 농장 주인이 그처럼 박대하지는 않았을 것입니다.

"내가 보는 것은 사람과 같지 아니하니 사람은 외모를 보거니와 나 여호와는 중심을 보느니라"(삼상16:7).

우리는 사람을 외모로 보지 말고 믿음을 따라 사귀는 성도들이 되어야 하겠습니다.

 

3. 양과 염소

"너희가 내 양이 아니므로 믿지 아니하는도다 내 양은 내 음성을 들으며 나는 그들을 알며 그들은 나를 따르느니라"(26-27).

이 말씀에 "아멘"하는 사람은 복을 받은 사람입니다. 아직도 진리가 무엇인지 분별하지 못하는 분이 있습니까? 깨닫는 지각이 열려지기 바랍니다. 여기서 우리가 기억해야 할 것은 양과 염소의 구분입니다. 누가 이를 구분할 수 있습니까? 목자입니다. 사실 목자가 오기까지는 어떤 사람이 양이며, 염소인지 구분하기는 어렵습니다. 또 염소가 양인 줄 착각하고 있다면 이도 역시 문제가 아닐 수 없을 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 성령으로 거듭나서 육신의 생각을 다스리고 진리에 순응하는 성도들이 되어야 합니다.

염소들의 기질이 어떤지 보십시오. 그들은 모든 일에 예수님보다 자신을 내세우기 기뻐하는 성품을 가지고 있습니다. 그러나 양들은 주님께만 영광을 돌립니다. 양들에게 명하는 진리의 교훈입니다.

"각각 은사를 받은 대로 하나님의 여러 가지 은혜를 맡은 선한 청지기같이 서로 봉사하라 만일 누가 말하려면 하나님의 말씀을 하는 것같이 하고 누가 봉사하려면 하나님이 공급하시는 힘으로 하는 것같이 하라 이는 범사에 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이니 그에게 영광과 권능이 세세에 무궁하도록 있느니라 아멘"(벧전4:10-11).

 

4. 삼위일체의 하나님

삼위일체 교리는 기독교의 기본 교리입니다. 주변에는 예수님의 이름을 빙자하면서 삼위일체 교리를 부인하는 자들이 있습니다. 조심하시기 바랍니다. 성경은 하나님과 예수님, 성령님은 하나임을 말씀하고 있습니다. 물론 삼위일체의 신비를 인간의 이성으로는 이해하기 어렵습니다. 그로 인해 교회사 이천 년 동안 많은 논란을 불러일으킨 것도 사실입니다.

삼위일체론은 보내시는 아버지와 보내심을 받은 아들과 위로부터 임하신 성령에 관한 계시에 근거를 두고 있습니다.

"그들을 주신 내 아버지는 만물보다 크시매 아무도 아버지 손에서 빼앗을 수 없느니라 나와 아버지는 하나이니라"(29-30).

이로 인해 유대인들의 감정이 극에 달하여 돌로 치려 하므로 주님께서 하신 말씀입니다.

"예수께서 대답하시되 내가 아버지로 말미암아 여러 가지 선한 일로 너희에게 보였거늘 그 중에 어떤 일로 나를 돌로 치려 하느냐"(32절).

"유대인들이 대답하되 선한 일로 말미암아 우리가 너를 돌로 치려는 것이 아니라 신성모독으로 인함이니 네가 사람이 되어 자칭 하나님이라 함이로라"(33절).

여기서 우리는 어느 것이 진리요, 또 비진리인지 어렵지 않게 분별할 수 있습니다. 하나님을 위한다는 명분으로 주님을 정죄하는 유대인들은 자신들의 소행을 모르고 있었습니다. 우리들도 이러한 죄에 빠지지 않도록 주의해야 합니다. 주의 진리를 진리로 받아들이지 않고 은혜를 외면하는 사람이 있다면 그것은 불행이 아닐 수 없을 것입니다.

우리 모두 겸손한 마음으로 구주를 영접하는 은혜의 사람이 되시기를 소원합니다.

 

5. 예수가 메시아임을 증거하는 일

"예수께서 대답하시되 내가 너희에게 말하였으되 믿지 아니하는도다 내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 행하는 일들이 나를 증거하는 것이거늘 너희가 내 양이 아니므로 믿지 아니하는도다"(25-26).

"만일 내가 내 아버지의 일을 행하지 아니하거든 나를 믿지 말려니와 내가 행하거든 나를 믿지 아니할지라도 그 일은 믿으라 그러면 너희가 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 내가 아버지 안에 있음을 깨달아 알리라"(37-38).

"나무는 열매로 안다"고 했습니다. 행위의 열매 그것은 무엇보다 중요합니다.

가시와 엉겅퀴에서 무화과를 딸 수 없듯이 악인에게서 선을 기대할 수 없는 것도 마찬가지입니다. 선한 사람에게서 선한 열매를 얻을 수 있습니다. "나를 믿지 아니할지라도 그 일을 믿으라." 과연 그 일이 무엇일까요?

1) 선한 일 곧 하나님의 일입니다.

주님께서 행하신 일은 어떤 구제행위가 아니라 하나님의 구원사역입니다.

"내가 아버지로 말미암아 여러 가지 선한 일로 너희에게 보였거늘 그 중에 어떤 일로 나를 돌로 치려 하느냐"(32절).

유의할 것은 아무리 큰일이라 할지라도 하나님과 무관하면 구원과 무관한 일이요, 아무리 작은 일일지라도 믿음으로 행하면 생명록에 올라간다는 것입니다. 우리는 어떠한 상황 속에서도 하나님의 영광이 드러날 수 있도록 기도하고, 성령의 열매가 풍성하기를 소원합니다.

2) 모든 병마와 질고를 담당하셨습니다.

"저물매 사람들이 귀신들린 자를 많이 데리고 예수께 오거늘 예수께서 말씀으로 귀신들을 쫓아내시고 병든 자들을 다 고치시니"(마8:16).

병든 자를 고치는 일이라면 의사도 할 수 있는 일이 아니냐고 반문할 사람이 있을지 모르겠습니다. 그것은 사실입니다. 그렇다고 병을 잘 다스리는 의사가 메시아가 될 수 있을까요? 그럴 수는 없습니다. 차이가 무엇일까요? 의사는 의술로 치유하지만 믿음으로 고치는 것은 하나님의 능력이기 때문입니다. 하나님은 우리에게 자연의 법칙을 허락하셨고 이에 따라 문제를 해결하도록 하셨습니다.

그러나 기억할 것은 하나님의 능력은 자연법칙을 초월할 수 있다는 사실입니다. 또 하나님의 능력은 인간의 생명과 구원에 목적이 있는 것입니다. 중요한 것은 의사는 환자를 의술로 치료하지만 주님께서는 질고와 병마를 친히 담당해주셨다는 것입니다.

"이는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 하신 말씀에 우리의 연약한 것을 친히 담당하시고 병을 짊어지셨도다 함을 이루려 하심이더라"(마8:17).

유대인들은 주님께서 행하시는 일은 누구나 할 수 없다는 사실을 알면서도 예수를 메시아로 받아들이지 않았습니다. 그러므로 아브라함의 후손이라는 것을 자랑하던 그들은이 진리의 원수로 전락되고 말았습니다.

복음과 무관한 것은 진리가 될 수 없고, 그리스도를 통하지 않고는 하나님께 갈 수 없다는 사실을 알았다면 오신 메시아를 영접하여 대속의 은혜와 영생의 복을 누리는 성도들이 되시기를 기원합니다. - 아멘 -

 

Christ, speak plainly

John 10:22-42

 

“If you are the Son of God” (Matthew 4:3,6).

This is the voice of the devil who came to tempt the hungry Lord after fasting forty days and forty days in the wilderness of Judea.

“Are you not the Christ, save you and us” (Luke 23:39).

Crucified together in Golgotha, the voice of a robber,

“If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself” (Luke 23:37).

It is the voice of the Roman soldiers who crucified Christ.

“The Jews surrounded him and said, “How long will you make our hearts doubtful? If it is the Christ, tell us clearly” (John 10:24).

What we have in common here is the question we have about Christ. Since they belong to the devil, they will not believe in any answer.

“I have told you, but you do not believe; the things I do in my Father’s name testify of me, and you do not believe because you are not my sheep” (25-26).

 

1. Feast of Passover

“The Feast of Pentecost came to Jerusalem, and it was winter” (verse 22).

The Feast of Pentecost is the feast of cleansing the temple. In one hundred and sixty-seven years BC, when Antiochus Epiphanes captured Jerusalem, slaughtering pigs on the altar of burnt offering, offering their blood, and sprinkling their blood on the temple. Maccabius) restored the temple and held the sacrificial feast to purify it. The ceremony of the Feast of Pentecost lasted for eight days, during which time brave victims were introduced and they worshiped God with psalms and hymns. The Feast of Pentecost began on the fifteenth day of December on the Gregorian calendar and on the twenty-fifth day of the month of Kisli on the Jewish calendar.

 

2. Drunken Jews

The reason the Jews despised the Lord was that he was from Galilee and called himself the Son of God and the Messiah to come. Of course, they also heard and saw the powers and miracles that humans cannot do. But the idea that Jesus could not be accepted as the Messiah did not change. He even denied it by declaring a curse (John 7:49).

The Messiah awaited by the Jews was expected to have an influence on the nations by restoring the sovereignty of Israel with the authority of David.

“This was to fulfill the word spoken through the prophet, saying, ‘Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Your king comes to you, humble and riding on a donkey, the foal of a yoke’” (Matthew 21:4-5).

If the Jews, who searched the Bible day and night, had known this, they would have bowed down and worshiped the Lord, saying, "Hosanna to the blessed." But the Jews were proud and did not know the Messiah.

It happened a few years before the American Civil War. One day, a poor boy came to the home of a farmer who ran a farm in Ohio, and hired him because he was running out of work to find a job. But after three years, when the boy finds out that the boy is dating his master's daughter, the master drives him out. Thirty-five years have passed since then, and the farm owner found the boy's belongings while repairing an old warehouse, and while examining the contents, the boy's real name was James A. said to have found out the truth. No matter how employed, the farm owner would not have been so rude if he had known that he was the future president.

“I do not look like men; man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).

We should not judge people by their outward appearances, but we should become believers who associate with faith according to their faith.

 

3. Sheep and Goats

“You do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (26-27).

Those who say “Amen” to these words are blessed. Is there anyone who still cannot discern what the truth is? I hope your understanding will be open. What we need to remember here is the distinction between sheep and goats. Who can tell them apart? Shepherd. In fact, it is difficult to tell who is the sheep and who is the goat until the shepherd arrives. Also, if you think that goats are sheep, this too can be a problem. Therefore, we must be born again by the Holy Spirit and become believers who control the thoughts of the flesh and obey the truth.

Look at the temperAment of the goats. They have a character that delights in putting themselves above Jesus in everything. But the sheep give glory only to the Lord. This is the lesson of truth commanding the sheep.

"As each one has received a gift, serve one another as good stewards of God's various graces. If anyone speaks, let him speak as if he were speaking the word of God, and if anyone would serve, let him serve as if he were using the strength God provides. In all things, through Jesus Christ. that God may be glorified through him, to whom is glory and power for ever and ever, Amen” (1 Peter 4:10-11).

 

4. The Triune God

The doctrine of the Trinity is the basic doctrine of Christianity. There are those around us who deny the doctrine of the Trinity in the name of Jesus. Please be careful. The Bible says that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one. Of course, the mystery of the Trinity is difficult to understand with human reason. It is also true that it caused a lot of controversy during the two thousand years of church history.

The Trinity is based on the revelation of the sending Father, the sent Son, and the Holy Spirit from above.

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand; I and the Father are one” (29-30).

Because of this, the feelings of the Jews reached their peak and they wanted to stone them, so these are the words of the Lord.

“Jesus answered, I have shown you many good works through my Father; for which of these are you going to stone me?” (verse 32).

“The Jews answered, “We do not want to stone you for good works, but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, call yourself God” (verse 33).

Here, we can easily discern which is true and which is untruth. The Jews who condemned the Lord in the name of serving God were unaware of what they had done. We too must be careful not to fall into these sins. If there are those who do not accept the Lord's truth as the truth and turn away from grace, it will be unfortunate.

I hope that all of us will become people of grace who receive the Savior with a humble heart.

 

5. Witnessing that Jesus is the Messiah

“Jesus answered, “I told you, but you do not believe. The things I do in my Father’s name testify of me, and you do not believe because you are not my sheep” (25-26).

“If I do not do my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I do, believe in the works, even if you do not believe me, then you will understand and know that the Father is in me and I am in the Father” (37-38).

“A tree is known by its fruit,” he said. The fruit of deeds It is of the utmost importance.

Just as figs cannot be picked from thorns and thistles, neither can we expect good from the wicked. Good fruit can be obtained from good people. "Even if you don't believe me, believe me." What is it?

1) It is a good work, that is, the work of God.

What the Lord did is not any kind of almsgiving, but God's work of salvation.

“I have shown you many good works because of my Father; for which of these are you going to stone me?” (verse 32).

Note that no matter how great a thing is, if it has nothing to do with God, it has nothing to do with salvation. We pray for the glory of God to be revealed in any situation, and we wish for the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be abundant.

2) He was in charge of all diseases and sufferings.

“As it was evening, people brought many demon-possessed people to Jesus, and Jesus cast out the demons with the word and healed all the sick” (Matthew 8:16).

Some of you might question whether healing the sick is something that even a doctor can do. It is true. But can a doctor who treats diseases well become the Messiah? It can't be. What's the difference? Doctors heal with medicine, but it is God's power to heal through faith. God has given us the laws of nature and we can solve our problems according to them.

But remember, God's power can transcend the laws of nature. Also, God's power has a purpose for human life and salvation. The important thing is that the doctor treats the patient with medicine, but the Lord Himself took care of the sickness and disease.

“This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17).

The Jews did not accept Jesus as the Messiah, even though they knew that the work of the Lord could not be done by anyone. Therefore, they who boasted that they were descendants of Abraham were reduced to being enemies of this truth.

If you know that things that are not related to the gospel cannot become the truth, and you cannot go to God except through Christ, I pray that you will receive the coming Messiah and enjoy the grace of redemption and the blessing of eternal life. - Amen -
